"We wanted to create a place where everyone can belong, feels accepted and loved“

During our DTS in Muizenberg, SA in 2014 God has spoken to us very clearly to start a YWAM Center for Snowboarders in Davos, Switzerland. It was in a time where we haven't figured out live. We where married for half a year and struggling with our marriage and life it self. Through Gods speaking we became new hope and faith. There is a God that believes in us, having a plan for us.

After our DTS we went to New Zealand for further training. Our dream to start a YWAM Centre in Switzerland started to grow in our hearts and minds and God  took us through a time of healing and learning. It became very important to us, that we wanted to create a place where everyone can belong, feels accepted and loved. Let's be honest, we snowboarders and freeskiers all have a little rebellion in us! That's fine, we can handle it.

It was always important to understand the culture and make sure we create an environment suitable to this culture to meet God and grow their relationship with him, so we can take part in fulfilling the great commission.

We would love to meet you!

  • The Climb Continues

The Lecture Phase of a DTS is similar to climbing a mountain.

It starts out pretty gradual, there's beautiful trees and plants all around as you begin to walk. The incline gradually gets steeper but the climb is still easy. You don't really notice how high you've climbed until you break above the treeline. Suddnely you turn and look out over the valley and realize that you've gained substantial altitude!

I’ve now spent five weeks here at YWAM Davos which has been incredible to say the least. The atmosphere of the city we are in, the home I live in, and the people I get to live with all create a place where I can thrive in my relationship with Jesus and explore how to live in a culture of honour. Over the past several weeks I’ve learned how to adapt to living with others even when we come from totally different cultures and understanding how sometimes we need to make sacrifices or small changes in order to work best with one another. On the other hand it is so sweet being able to mesh so incredibly well with others from the snowboarding/skiing community and share our love for Jesus through that.

The first week went like most first weeks go - getting used to a new schedule and settling in.

The second week dove in a little deeper as we talked about living a life dedicated to sharing the love God has for each of us.

The third week talked about relationships and what God’s intention is for them, both in the romantic and non-romanic sense.
